50km on the pavements

50km in 1 night. lots of rests and pit stops. the night cycling we talked about for a good half of the year came to final fruition. wasn't easy. lack of rest, physical preparation, early exhaustion nearly did us in. but we made it. a near-torturous 12 hours that was actually enjoyable in its weird quirky little ways.

meowing at all the cats i went past. at least 10 of them. observing a cat blind in an eye. how it sleeps on the stairs going into the canal. what a scenic spot. then taking pictures of a 1 inch frog sleeping with its black beady eyes wide open. mitchell's camera has flash, and i bet it would wake up blind. it was just so cute.

why are dogs so irritating? well after dawn i observed the roads filling up and people walking dogs. except for this dog who wagged its tail and smiled at me when i MEOW-ed at it, the rest are just pissing everywhere they go. seriously. u know how they must raise a leg to do so? why does one see that so often? how about cats? private matters, are always private matters. no one ever sees a cat doing such unsightly things. and that, is something that is never brought up in the debate of dogs vs cats.

financial straits

4 und a half months to ord and i realise i should keep track of my accounts

with 415 in my bank account every month, this is the entire breakdown:

approx 95 to insurance. leaving me 320 left.

50 for my essential train concession. 270 left.

20 for other forms of transport (planes, cruises..). 250 left.

50 on games/entertainment/junk food. 200 left.

now this part gets tricky. assume i have 1 meal in camp in canteen every day for 22 work days a months, that works out to be:
typical meal $3. typical drink $1.
hence a meal for a day in camp is $4.
22 work days makes that $88.

112 left.

this amount is used to go out with friends and pay for all my miscellaneous fees and clubs and omg...how do i get that far.

Dragon Quest IV bad speaking russian village livers

This is damn hilarious. It's such an accurate portrayal of Russian English. Mind you, it's a deliberate attempt to make a region taste as vodka of russia. - herrick's attempt ^^

"Tsar dictates me not to permit that you are passing."
"Now I must to prepare the edibles. I am hard-working as to buzzing bee."
"Yoy, I am so empty! I hope the time is not lingering until next nourishment."
"But first you must to become beefy by battling nearby to town. I mind that this is intelligent."
"I'm happy to see that you are returned."

downright retarded and yet never fails to give me that warm smile.

now what is that first note.

waiting on a video of a Japanese guitarist playing Handel's moody Sarabande, i started humming the first note.

my vocal cords resonated, synchronising into a perfect fit with the first note sounded.

and then i guessed as much. i might have perfect pitch after all.

i will die a happy man.

parlez-vous, dauphin?

but nothing will bespoil
whatever i was never
for tainted they dismay
skies of ashen grey

for your tears 'ere
parries mine of folly
shame or decadence true
neglect upon neglect rue

cold steel strikes soft
yet blood gently lets
whence constitution flowed before
to-brest scones corrugated bore
